BMF Members Day 2017 – theme and first speaker announced

The theme for the BMF Members Day 2017 has been announced, Building Beyond Brexit.

It will focus on the national need for more house building, as well as challenging BMF members to consider if they are doing enough to continue to build their businesses in a changing political and trading landscape.

Keynote speaker, Jadon Silva, will focus on critical supply issues for a national house building group. Silva has been Group Procurement Director at McCarthy and Stone since November 2015. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, Jadon was previously Director of Procurement at HomeServe, Head of Procurement at BT and also held procurement positions at both Carillion and Tarmac.

Silva believes his remit to be very clear; to bring process and structure to the supply chain, to drive margin improvement and to ensure supplier performance is measured. He has a track record of delivering tangible cash savings through implementation and delivery of procurement best practice.

BMF MD John Newcomb said: “The gradual revelation of what Brexit will actually mean for the country and the our industry will dominate the news agenda and our business lives for the coming year and beyond. One thing that is certain in these uncertain times is the country’s need for more housing, and appropriate housing.  I’m delighted that Jadon is joining us to give a national house builders take on this. Our speaker line-up will also include an SME house builder to give another perspective on this important subject. This is an event that no-one can afford to miss.”

Members’ Day 2017 will be held at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. The Business Conference and the BMF’s black-tie Awards Dinner, which celebrates the achievements of young people working in the industry, both take place on 20th September. The BMF’s annual Golf Tournament will be held on the previous day, 19th September.

The BMF thanks our Members’ Day headline sponsor, Encon Insulation, and Marsh Industries and Monument Tools, who sponsor the Awards Dinner and

Golf Tournament.
