Bence bag a branch in Bourton

Independent family-run builders merchant group The George Bence Group  opened a 4th branch on January 19,  in the Cotswold village of Bourton on the Water.

Cotsworld MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, was present to cut the ribbon.

The 164 year old, fifth-generation family independent has created nine new jobs in the area with Bourton Team focusing on heavyside materials, timber, DIY and paint supplies, complementing Bence’s existing Obsidian kitchen & bathroom showroom in the area, alongside its Decorating Centre.

Product offering embrace premium paint brands including Farrow & Ball, Paint & Paper Library, Little Green alongside deluxe wallpapers and expert consultancy advice on interiors.

George Bence Group managing director Paul Bence, said: “We are very proud to open our fourth branch in a vicinity which has been highly sought after. It very much fits within our long term strategic development plans and complements our existing lightside business in the area.

“We listen carefully to our client’s needs and it was very clear that the area was lacking choice and service in building material supplies. The very experienced team in branch will be able to provide expert assistance and service to our established loyal clientele working in this part of the Cotswolds and support a new customer base. This is another marker in our initial target of ten branches as we look to expand our regional presence further afield.’

“We are very honoured that Sir Geoffrey was able to open the branch, especially with it being his first official engagement after his knighthood. He has served the Cotswolds gracefully for 25 years and I hope that we can perform within the area as well as he has.”

Sir Geoffrey said: “‘I was delighted to open the George Bence Group’s new fourth branch in the Cotswolds. I have always been a very satisfied customer and it is excellent to see this family-run company expanding further in the Cotswolds.”
