During his tour of the plant, Balls was able to view the various processes used to manufacture the Recticel insulation board products, from initial mixing of the components through to the strict quality control procedures.

“We opened the plant in 2007 in the face of the recession, and since then we have gone from strength to strength” said Recticel commercial director, Chris Hall. “We’re always looking for a better way to achieve our aims and this has helped us build an excellent reputation for the quality of the products we produce, for the efficiency with which we produce them and for the environmental performance of the plant.”

Balls praised the company for creating much-needed jobs in Stoke-on-Trent. “I’m pleased that the Regional Development Agency, Advantage West Midlands, supported the project,” he said.
