Arbor Forest Products launch online training academy

The aim of the academy is to develop a wider commercial knowledge, better understanding and greater technical confidence in all aspects of the timber industry. On completing the courses, the student gets a RIBA accredited certificate and qualification.

There are three modules, covering product and technical aspects:

o Introduction to Timber Part 1

o Introduction to Timber Part 2

o Arbordeck

Each module takes about an hour to complete and comes with graphics and video clips. Each module can be allocated, viewed and progress monitored by operational managers.

The academy is aimed at both Arbor Forest Products internal staff and external customer’s employees who can access the academy at work or home or on the move.

Arbor Forest Products sales director Jason Ostler, says: “Traditionally timber learning courses have always gone into far too technical a level for staff, with little reference to the commercial element of timber trading. Our courses have been written very much with the merchant trade in mind and we are confident the contents will provide their staff with a good knowledge and overview of timber as a natural commercial product.

“We see the academy giving Arbor Forest Products and our trading partners a greater competitive edge from this unique investment in training and skills”.
