Kingspan Insulation strikes gold

Kingspan Insulation has reached another milestone this year after its manufacturing facility in Pembridge Herefordshire, was awarded World Class Operation Management (WCOM) Gold.

Kingspan Insulation strikes gold

This latest award reflects the hard work of Kingspan Insulation staff. The WCOM covers nine different areas including engagement, quality, maintenance, and production. Companies are given an overall level based on the weighted average of the scores for each area. Kingspan Insulation were awarded gold based on their scores.

Most of the work at Kingspan Insulation’s Pembridge site has focused on making improvements in manufacturing processes. One of the biggest success stories has been on the production line for the firm’s premium performance Kooltherm insulation range, with waste cut by 70% in the last 8 years alone.

As part of the WCOM process, core facilities around the division are externally audited and scored every year. This helps support Kingspan Insulation’s development, with extra emphasis placed on further improvements in staff training and engagement. Other sites within Kingspan Group are also working towards the goal of achieving WCOM Gold by 2018.
