Parker Severn call in administrators

Family-run independent builders merchants Parker Severn in Derby have gone into administration.

Parker Severn call in administrators

The business, which turns over £2.5m from depots in Bulwell and Somercotes in Derby, was established in 1983 and employs 16 staff.

Trading at the builders merchant has been severely curtailed by the sharp decline in demand for building materials from both trade and general public customers.

Eddie Kerr and Ian Gould, from accountants PKF in Derby, are running the business as joint administrators and the hope is to sell the business as a going concern.

The current directors are Anthony Parker and Kay Parker, company secretary. In the last available accounts, the company posted pre-tax profits of £44,558, for the financial year 2006 to 2007, representing a fall of 69% on the previous year’s.
