Chandlers raises £35K for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

The ‘Chandlers £50K Challenge: The Rob Sadler Cystic Fibrosis Appeal’ launched in early 2013. Rob Sadler not only celebrated 30 years of Chandlers’ employment that year, but also turned 50 in December; those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.

The merchant encouraged the local community and customers to join their fundraising efforts and a number of people and organisations held their own events to boost the total.

Sadler’s family and friends have also been hard at work fundraising and have completed bike rides and runs, as well as organising two barn dances, amongst many other events.

Sadler is delighted with the total amount raised: “I am thrilled at the amount of money that has been raised, a big thank you to everyone that has contributed to the appeal. Cystic Fibrosis is a condition that is not immediately visible, but affects so many families across the county. The money we have raised will go to help the charity offer support to those with the condition, as well as invest in research to help develop improved treatments and hopefully, one day, a cure.”

Richard Skinner, commercial director at Chandlers, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have raised such a great amount of money for a fantastic charity. The support from our staff and customers has been fantastic and everyone is delighted to have been able to help Rob achieve such a great sum of money.”
