Roofing provider BMI UK & Ireland has launched a flat roof materials estimating course as part of its drive to address the roofing industry’s skills shortage.
Developed by the BMI Academy’s training team, the course responds to increasing demand for practical training on flat roof materials estimation.
The flat materials estimating course aims to tackle the apparent gap in available training for flat roofing professionals in the UK. Combining theoretical and practical learning, it helps contractors gain confidence, avoid common estimation errors, and deliver accurate project outcomes.
Stuart Farndell, lead technical trainer at BMI Academy, added: “Since the introduction of our pitched material estimating course, we’ve frequently been asked for a flat equivalent. It’s a completely different set of skills, and we’re fortunate to have a team that’s rich in specialist knowledge, allowing us to develop courses that directly meet our customers’ needs.”
